At the Forefront of Tradition
Claudia Coma
“Creating Blends has become one of my passions. I started with cooking studies at the Hoffmann Barcelona Hospitality School, then I went to work with Nandú Jubany and Carles Gaig, both with Michelin stars. I had my own restaurant for 5 years and when I became pregnant with my first child, I decided to leave the hospitality industry to dedicate time to my children.
That's when I came to the family business with my father, Albert Coma, at Magatzems Coma, to see if I really liked the job, because if my work isn't passionate about it, I can't do it….
The first thing I did was learn to roast, through trial and error, every single day. One day I realized I was completely hooked on this craft. Between searching for the "perfection" of my roast profiles and my blends, I was racking my brain all day long! By the way, I roast with a digital Probat 0. My work as a roaster is 100% artisanal; I rely on a database I've been compiling over time, and above all, on my eyes and ears. Coffee is our craft, our ritual, our passion.
Eco-Friendly Commitment
Less Water, More Flavor
We reduce water consumption in coffee processing, promoting methods that use up to 90% less water than traditional ones. We process 95% of our coffees as natural and honey-processed coffees, protecting this vital resource.
More Trees, More Life
Cofinet has a nursery of native trees that it distributes free of charge to producers. These trees improve the soil, reduce the need for chemicals, and promote biodiversity.
Support for Producers
We offer internship programs where farmers learn alternative fermentation techniques. We provide them with tools and purchase their batches, eliminating risks and promoting quality.
Our process
From bean to cup
Harvest in Colombia
In the vibrant landscapes of Colombia, our farmers hand-pick the coffee cherries at their peak ripeness. This meticulous harvesting process guarantees exceptional quality from the very beginning, preserving the authentic flavors that distinguish our coffees.
Beneficiary Process
Once harvested, the cherries undergo a traditional process of pulping, fermentation, and washing to extract the green cherries. This traditional method preserves the natural aromas and prepares the cherries for roasting, which enhances their unique characteristics.
Detailed Selection
Each grain is meticulously examined, evaluating its size, density, and appearance. Only those that meet our exacting standards are included in the exclusive blends we offer.
Careful Transportation
Packed in breathable jute sacks, the green beans cross the ocean under controlled conditions. This ensures they arrive in Europe with all their freshness and quality intact.
Arrival and Roasting in Andorra
The beans arrive at our roastery in Andorra, located at an altitude of 1.023 meters in the Pyrenees. The mountain climate and pure air create the ideal environment for a roast that brings out the fullest flavors. With four generations of master roasters since 1934, we apply techniques that reveal the best of each bean.
Creating Exclusive Mixes
After roasting, we combine the beans according to our own recipes. Each blend is the result of a perfect balance between different origins, offering a unique flavor experience in every cup.
Preparation and Delivery
We prepare each order with care, ensuring your coffee arrives at your home in perfect condition. Thanks to our trusted logistics partners, we guarantee fast and secure delivery, so you can enjoy our specialty coffees as soon as possible.
