Saeco was founded in 1981 in Gaggio Montano, near Bologna, as a small Italian company with an ambition disproportionate to its size: to reinvent the way espresso is prepared. In 1985, they achieved something no company had ever accomplished before: designing and manufacturing the world's first bean-to-cup system, a fully automatic mechanism capable of grinding the beans on demand and preparing a perfect Italian espresso at the touch of a button. Saeco Professional is the division focused exclusively on the out-of-home (B2B) market, with solutions for offices, workspaces, hotels, restaurants, and any establishment where coffee is part of the customer service. There are no home products in their professional catalog: everything is designed to meet the demands for volume, reliability, and ease of maintenance that are only truly understood when operating a machine in a real-world commercial environment.

Technology and research: more than 45 patents in a decade

What sets Saeco Professional apart from most of its competitors is that the entire production process is in-house: from the initial concept and research, through prototype creation, to pre-launch testing. Everything happens within Saeco, in its own laboratories, one of which is VDE certified. The result of this technological autonomy is more than 45 patents filed in the last ten years and between 10 and 15 new patented projects every year—a rate of innovation that few manufacturers in the professional coffee sector can match.

All production complies with the requirements of UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 (quality) and ISO 14001:2015 (environment), and the products hold VDE, IMQ, CSA, and NSF certifications.
